John Derrek’s Timeline:

January 18th, 19??: born 2:30am blistery cold day in Dickinson, ND(3RD of 10 children)

May, 1969: Graduate High School, Mott, ND.

Sept. 15th 1969: Obtain radio License at Brown Institute, Mpls. MN

Sept. 1970: Graduate Brown Institute, accept first radio job, Evening DJ at KEYZ, Williston, ND.

Sept. 1971: Move to Rapid City, SD to accept afternoon drive on KKLS.

June 1972: Driving around reporting on coming Rapid City Flood. (it’s quite a story.)

August 1975: Fired from KKLS, accept position in Great Falls Mt., 2 weeks it doesn’t work out, accept evening position at KNOX Grand Forks, ND. (Coldest place on earth.)

March 1977: Accept record promoting position with Polydor records, MPLS. MN.

April 1979: Move back to Rapid City for 2nd stint at KKLS this time mid-days.

Sept. 1982: Left KKLS for KENI, Anchorage AK, (not as cold as Grand Forks.)

November 1982: 3 months was enough, moved back to earth to Gillette, WY, KOLL 97, mid-days.

January 29th, 1985: Met Jesus Christ in Gillette, WY. (Yes! Gillette Wyoming!)

April, 1985: Fired from KOLL 97, walked across the street to same position at Y100, in Gillette.

Sept. 1986: Accepted mid-days and program director at KSLT, Spearfish, SD.

Sept. 1987: Left for YWAM(Youth With A Mission), in Kailua-Kona, HI. (3 months missions training, and 3 months out to Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and into Communist China.)

Feb. 1988: Back to KSLT, Spearfish. (God’s BIG Circle.)

Today: Still here at KSLT, and still loving it! “Haa Christians-How’r You?”
