My Golden Valentine Project
Listeners provided over 9,000 handmade Valentine Cards customized for regional senior citizens. Radio station staff and volunteers delivered the cards to assisted living facilities, nursing homes, care centers, Cornerstone Rescue Mission, The Black Hills Workshop, The Women and Children's Home sharing the love of Christ through each card.
Black Hills Home Builders Home Show
We as a family friendly radio station promoted ourselves to potential families and folks that attended the Black Hills Home Builders Home Show with a booth, giving out keychains.
Family Movie Night at the Elks
In March, we showed "The little House That Stood" Veggie Tales Movie at the Elks Theater in Rapid City. It is an inexpensive way to bring families together and spend time watching a wholesome movie.
28 Hours of Mercy
In April we had a child sponsorship drive through One Child Matters, giving our listener the opportunity to sponsor children around the globe making sure "their chosen child" gets nutritional care, spiritual care, and medical care each month in the project they are living in.
The Believer Tour Featuring Kutless, Luminate, Ashes Remain and N.F.
In April, we brought Kutless to our listening area (Dickinson, Gillette, Spearfish and Pierre) to minister to our listener through songs and testimonies. Again, another way to get people in touch with God and bring family together for a memorable night.
Mom's Free Oil Changes
In honor of single moms, widows and wives of deployed military personnel, we honored them with a free oil change in Rapid City, Spearfish, Sturgis and Belle Fourche just to say we love you moms and appreciate you and who you are.
Kids Fair Sponsor
In April, KSLT sponsored Kids Fair through Youth and Family Services. Kids Fair draws over 11,000 people every year to the Civic Center in Rapid City filled with activities and interactive booths for children and families.
All Thing Possible Tour featuring Mark Schultz, Aaron Shust and Jonny Diaz
In April, KSLT brought in the All Things Possible Tour to Rapid City for families to the new Performing Arts Center.
Nation Day of Prayer
In the beginning of May, KSLT participated in the local National Day of Prayer event in Rapid City and promoted our listeners to pray for our nation and it's leaders.
Billy Graham Rapid Reponse Team Training
In May, KSLT staff attended Billy Graham's Rapid Response Training Seminar to equip the staff to better know how to response to crisis with the love of Christ. This was open to our listeners to attend as well.
Hills Alive Free For All
Each year before Hills Alive, we give our listeners to be a part of Hills Alive financially through the Hills Alive Free For All. $20,000 was raised to cover the costs of Hills Alive through our listeners.
Mission Dominican RepublicIn June, a team of 40 listeners traveled to the Dominican Republic. KSLT's John Derrek and Tom Schoenstedt traveled as leaders on the trip to build a facility for families to gather for church and they also put together a vacation bible school for the kids while there, ministering through the love of Jesus Christ.
Power at the Pump Summer Promotion
KSLT partnered with Fresh Start/Ranch Mart for last summer’s Power at the Pump promotion. We gave away (2) $50 gas cards weekly that started June 7th and went through August 24th. All those who qualified for one of the two weekly gas cards also qualified for the grand prize drawing on August 30th winning FREE GAS FOR A YEAR! ($1200 value.)
Christian Music Nights
Christian Music Nights are held in Pierre at the Pierre 347 with music, food and fellowship and music giveaways in Pierre, SD.
Hills Alive Squared
We were able to minister to the people of downtown Rapid City to kick off Hills Alive weekend in the new Main Street Square with our unplugged artist set featuring Jason Gray, Plumb and more! People of Rapid City could come and worship with us FREE of charge!
Hills Alive Christian Music Festival
Every year, we are the backbone station who puts on Hills Alive in Rapid City- A ticket free christian music festival, drawing over 60,000 people to Memorial Park for live music from top Artists of the Christian Music industry. It includes a kids ministry area, vendors, prayer tent, and special sessions for youth pastors. Thousands of people have come to know Jesus Christ through Hills Alive.
Day in the Park Hope For a Lifetime
Day in the Park had its 3rd year of ministry outreach to the working poor of our community. Day in the Park took place the first morning of Hills Alive with several personal invites drawing in hundreds of people with music, free haircuts, prayer, groceries, useful resource information, kids area, and a free lunch.
Christian Music Broadcasters Training
Ministry leadership also participates in the advancement of Christian radio through the Christian Music Broadcasters Association. During this event, team leaders meet with artists, record label representatives and other broadcasters to further ministry opportunities by consolidating resources. Additionally, we learn of new music artists who may be able to provide powerful new songs to the radio stations.
The Awakening Black Hills Men's Conference
In October, our station promoted and sponsored the Awakening Black Hills Men's Conference featuring . The Men's Conference was open to all men of the listening area to come into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
October is the month of our annual fundraiser to meet the financial need for the next fiscal year. Over 20,000 of support per month was raised through our listeners.
Black Hills Shepherd's Retreat
October is pastor appreciation month, so we teamed up with John Witherspoon College and blessed a pastor and spouse with free registration to the retreat in Keystone, SD.
Thanksgiving Blood Drive
We teamed up with United Blood Services for the Thanksgiving Blood Drive at UBS in collecting whole blood, platelets and plasma to patients who are in need.
Christmas at Main Street Square
We provided Christmas Music to JD Productions for Christmas in Main Street Square Family events throughout the day and the lighting of the city Christmas Tree.
Parade of Lights
We decorated their promotional vehicle advertising the Christmas Station and the Christmas Train in thousands of Christmas Lights to drive through town advertising to thousands of people to listen to the station.
Jason Gray Christmas Stories Tour
We hosted the Christmas Stories Tour featuring Jason Gray to Rapid City in Dec. The concert was held at the new Performing Arts Theater in Rapid City.
Gospel For Asia Critter Campaign
We teamed up with Gospel For Asia offering listeners the opportunity to impact desperate, needy families across the world through the Critter Campaign. Over the past years, hundreds of families have been blessed with lambs for wool, chickens for breeding and providing eggs, water buffalo for milk, water filters, sewing machines - plus having clean water wells dug in several communities, along many more items; as a result of listeners' generous kindness. Each item is delivered individually by a Christian missionary family.
Christmas Train Promotion
We teamed up with several area businesses to give away over $20,000 in prizes through this mega promotion drawing thousands to listen daily during the month of December.
Christmas Dream Boxes for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation
We teamed up with Wings as Eagles Ministries to bless thousands of Children on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with boxes filled with items that would be helpful in their everyday life (toothbrushes, gloves, hats, etc.).
Coat Drive/Cornerstone Thrift Store
Staff assists Cornerstone Thrift Store each year in sorting coats collected for those in our community that normally would go without. They sort by size in preparation of individuals of our community receiving them.
Listeners nominated those (families) in dire circumstances with a huge blessing through our radio ministry, for whatever their need was this year.
