South Dakota American Legion       7/4
South Dakota American Legion Parade is taking place on Saturday, July 4th at 101 Pine Street Piedmont SD. American Legion Post 311’s color guard will lead the parade starting at 10am. Registration and line up for parade entries is from 8:30-9:30am with hot rods lining up at Valley Market, I 90 Exit 46 & Sturgis Road. Mystic Mountain Run/Heart of the Hills Run      7/18
50th Annual Mystic Mountain Run on Sunday, July 12th, an 88 mile trail run. To get there take highway 14 from Hill City to where it branches to Deerfield and go straight on 231. Registration is at 7:30am and the race starts at 9am. Entry fee is $25. There are different divisions from highschool & under thru 70 and over.;; 41st of the Heart of the Hills Run, a 10.4 mile run/walk taking place on Saturday, July 18th. Registration is at 5:30 and the race starts at 6:30pm. Meet at 1880 Train parking lot in Hill City. Entry fee is $25. There are different divisions for different ages starting from 15 & under all the way to 70 and over. FMI:

Have fun with Black Hills Works Foundation ‘Golf Fore a Cause’ tournament on Monday, Aug. 17th at the Golf Club at Red Rock (6520 Birkdale Dr. Rapid City SD). 4-Person scramble play with Flight, Pin and Hole-in-One prizes! Come to a two day Security and Intruder Awareness was May 8th-9th but has now been moved to Friday, Aug. 21st (8-4:30pm) & Saturday, Aug. 22nd (8-2:30pm) at Hills View Evangelical Free Church, 13776 Sturgis Road Piedmont SD 57769. Pastors, church staff, administrators and facility managers, children and student ministry directors, security team and deacons should attend. Key topics that will be covered are: creating a culture of awareness, approaching suspicious or armed individuals, verbal conflict management & de-escalation and more.
