Black Hills State University-Rapid City Student Food Pantry         11/30
Black Hills State University-Rapid City Student Food Pantry (BHSU-RC) is asking for financial donations or food donations to help students who are in need of it. Donors can drop off donations, now thru the end of November, in the bins near the BHSU-RC’s security desk on the main floor. Visit their Facebook page for more info, Black Hills State University.

Abbott House is looking for individuals, businesses and corporations who want to create great Christmas memories for the 99 young people in its care this year. The American Legion    12/3
Local high school orators can participate in the National American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship competition which focuses on the U.S. Constitution. Students in St. Thomas More HS, Rapid City Christian HS, Stevens HS, Central HS and homeschooling can participate. Prepared oration must be an original effort from 8-10 minutes in length. This competition has been extended until Thursday, Dec. 3rd. American Legion Post 22 in Rapid City will offer up to $500 to the winner locally. Child Protective Services have set up virtual giving for children in foster care, relative care, group homes or facilities this year from now until Friday Dec. 5th. Rapid City Area School District will offer free developmental screenings at Jefferson School for children ages three through five. Screenings check a child’s development in the areas of language, articulation, concept development, hearing, vision, and motor skills. Information is shared with the parents. On the East Campus (classes are held on Thursdays only, dinner at 5:30pm class at 6pm): starting Thursday, Jan 7th there will be Bridges to Freedom, Jan 14th Life Explored, Jan 21st Computer Soft Skills. Downtown Campus (classes are held on Tuesdays only, dinner at 5:30pm and class at 6pm): starting Tuesday Jan 12th Christianity 101, Jan 19th Agents of Apocalypse, Jan 26th Financial Freedom.
