Pothole Hotline

Pothole Hot-Line

People in Rapid City can help the Public Works Department fix problems like potholes, malfunctioning traffic lights, or downed signs by reporting them.

Spring is pothole season, and these bumpy and inconvenient hazards can be irritating to drive on.

Darrell Shoemaker, Rapid City communications manager. said “We really rely heavily on the citizens. They’re the ones who travel in those neighborhoods on a daily basis and they’ll pick up and they’ll see things.”

Shannon Truax, Rapid City interim assistant director of public works said “On average, we get between 15 and 20 notices a week. So that’s three or four problems a day that we’re able to address.”
