As an upfitter, you will play a crucial roll in ensuring that emergency responders have the reliable vehicles they need to serve their communities effectively. This position requires a mechanical background, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a fast paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
-Preparing vehicles to meet specific operational requirements.
-Performing detailed vehicle inspections and diagnostics to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
-Disassembling and reassembling various vehicle components.
-Unboxing and assembling all equipment needed for installation, ensuring everything is organized and ready to be installed.
-Programming emergency lights according to customer-specific patterns and requirements.
-Conducting thorough testing of all installed equipment to ensure proper functionality.
-Preparing vehicles for pickup by thoroughly cleaning both interior and exterior.
-Monitoring and updating supply inventory to ensure the availability of necessary parts and tools for each job, keeping records up to date.
-Safely and efficiently using power tools and equipment during the installation process to ensure high-quality results.
-Prioritizing tasks to meet production goals and deadlines, following guidance from supervisors.
-Maintaining accurate records of all work completed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
Qualifications:
-Mechanical background and basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems and vehicle wiring.
-Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely.
-Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
-Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
-Ability to work both with a team and individually.
-Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
-Must have a valid driver’s license.
-Experience in car audio installation, custom vehicle fabrication, 12-volt security installs, and/or auto mechanics is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
